Product Introduction
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive 2290 is a solvent-based, amber-tinted thermosetting epoxy that requires heat to cure. With a very low viscosity, this adhesive is designed for metal-to-metal coating and subsequent bonding, making it ideal for applications such as motor lamination and wire winding. A key feature is its ability to be B-staged; after the initial coating is dried to a tack-free film, the final heat-cured bond can be made up to 3 months later, providing exceptional flexibility in multi-stage manufacturing processes.
3M™ 2290 Features:
- Offers exceptionally high shear and peel strength for durable bonds.
- Solvent-based, low-viscosity formulation is ideal for coating applications.
- Dries to a tack-free film, allowing bonds to be made up to 3 months later (B-staging).
- Provides excellent wetting during cure, requiring only a single surface to be coated.
- A heat press is recommended during cure for lamination applications.
