3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Core Splice Film AF 3028FR is a specialized, low-density adhesive film engineered with flame-retardant properties for the aerospace industry. This film thermally expands during the curing process, making it exceptionally effective for splicing honeycomb core, reinforcing structures, and filling gaps or mismatched areas between surfaces. It is designed to reliably join honeycomb cores of different cell sizes. Formulated for easy handling in a shop environment, AF 3028FR cures flexibly between 250°F (121°C) and 350°F (176°C), even at slow heat-up rates, ensuring full expansion. Its low-sag and low-volatile characteristics ensure a clean application, providing a high-performance bond that remains stable in service temperatures from -67°F to 350°F (-55°C to 176°C).
