Product Description:
Elantas Epoxylite 578EB is a Class 180°C epoxy resin system that engineers designed for impregnating both random and form wound machines. It suits windings rated up to 3.3 kV, and you can optimize it for 6.6 kV machines with specific insulation structures. Epoxylite® 578EB offers excellent tank stability and a short cure cycle. It penetrates deeply and builds a high-quality film with just a single application. Consequently, it provides superior environmental and chemical protection, making it ideal for both OEM and electrical repair shops.
Application of Epoxylite 578EB
You can apply Elantas Epoxylite 578EB through the Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) process.
Processing of Epoxylite 578EB:
You can perform various VPI processes with Epoxylite® 578EB, including:
-
Random Wound Machines: For optimal results, maintain a dry vacuum level of 1-2 mbar for 15-30 minutes before introducing the resin into the vacuum vessel. Then, continue with the same “wet” vacuum level for 10-15 minutes before applying a pressure of 60-70 psi for 15-30 minutes.
-
Form Wound Stators and Armatures up to 3.3 kV: To ensure proper impregnation, use a vacuum of 0.5 mbar or better for at least 60 minutes before introducing the resin into the vacuum vessel.
