Product Introduction
The ELPECAST® Wepuran VU 4453 series offers a large variety in terms of viscosity, colours, processing time, and pot life. It includes numerous hardness and elasticity adjustments that cover the full range of Shore hardness, with good resistance against water, moisture, lyes, acids, and many chemicals. Elastic adjustments serve as a low-cost alternative for silicone casting compounds. The series is highly elastic with very low water absorption and offers various viscosities, pot lives, and Shore hardnesses. It includes a thixotropic adjustment for dam-and-fill applications or dispensing. VU 4443/92 WR-NV fulfils the requirements of IEC 60079-0, section 26.10 “Resistance to UV light.” VU 4453/71 HE-T is recognized by UL as a polyurethane adhesive in category QOQW2 (File E501223). It also features water-resistant adjustments for underwater applications. Recommended auxiliary products include Accelerating agent B 4400, adhesion promoter EH 13.950, sealing mastic EH 13.271, mould release agent EH 13.650, and cleaning agent R 13.780. Available in black, blue, or beige, this non-transparent product operates at temperatures from -65 to +90/130 °C and has a soft (Shore A) hardness.
