Liquid Sealant/Gasket vs. Conventional compression Sealant/Gasket

Until now, the use of pre-formed conventional compression gaskets is widespread and is normally the first port of call for a customer looking for an instant pressure seal. Compression sealants/gaskets are pre-formed to a specific size, shape, and thickness from a variety of materials including rubber and synthentic blends,.. 

However, the use of liquid gaskets as opposed to die cut gaskets is increasing. They can be applied by dispensing onto one surface of a flange joint manually or using robotic dispensing equipment, in any shape or  dimension and easily follows complex contours of the substrate or part. The main advantages of liquid gaskets/sealants over compression types can be list as follows: 

• Improve reliability: liquid materials will flow into the gap of the metal surfaces and prevent leakage, reduce compression set and fastener loosening. Especially, anaerobic sealant/gasket add structure strength to the assembly 
• Reduced costs: by reducing inventory of gaskets in all shapes and sizes; machining tolerances can be relaxed; increase productivity thanks to automatic production ability and lower servicing costs. 
• Easier aplication: easy to automate and rapid curing
