How to choose among these CA Instant Loctite Adhesives?
First, you need to answer the biggest question: What type of material are you bonding?
There will be two main options:
Bonding Low Surface Energy Plastics
Some low surface energy plastics can be named as follow: PP, PE, Acetal, PTFE, etc.
In this case, you need to increase the surface energy first by using: a primer with premium CAs:
For All Other Materials (Except Glass)
For bonding other surfaces including metal, wood, leather, textile, and some porous surfaces, in addition to requirements of bonding strength, there will be 7 other needs:
Premium Surface Insensitive CAs (Bond very well to most materials)
There will be 3 options:
Low odor/ Low bloom CAs (For aesthetic & odor sensitive applications)
Light Cure CAs – Rapid Cure (Provide extremely fast cure speeds)
Toughened/Impact Resistant CAs (For applications with vibration & shock)
Two-Part CA (For high-gap applications)
